Hazel
first worked with the Trust as a student while undertaking her Degree and
gained valuable data analysis and research experience by working as a
volunteer on our Indicang Project studying declining eel populations.
Later, Hazel joined us full time to work within the Education and Fundraising Team and as Project Officer on the Camel Invasives Project, running community and volunteer action groups.
During this work, Hazel also found time to write a Heritage Lottery bid to run Cornwall Wet Feet with school and community group visits, field trips and activities to investigate our local freshwater habitats.
Hazel is now working as part of the Upstream Thinking Project Team to assist in the monitoring and reporting of the Trust’s actions across target catchments and she is also responsible for the overall joint-partner project reporting. She is always keen for an opportunity to be outdoors; electro-fishing, farm visits, surveys or macro invertebrate sampling, and she is regularly spotted hosting the WRT stand at local shows and events.
A local farmer’s daughter, in her spare time Hazel prefers to be outside as much as possible; gig-rowing or walking the dog on the moors and the occasional skiing trip. With a love of wide open spaces and experiencing other cultures, her travel has included Australia, Tanzania, Canada and most of Western Europe.
