AARC - Atlantic Aquatic Resource Conservation

The Westcountry rivers trust believes that rivers can be best managed by working in partnership with concerned individuals and organisations. In the UK the AARC project is focused in two areas:

       1. Action to improve rivers

       2. Scientific work to inform and direct that action

Some of the science is very technical (Scale analysis and DNA fingerprinting), but some of the most important work, such as river walkover surveys, can be carried out by volunteers.
