Volunteering Organisations

BTCV is a unique international volunteering organisation providing the bridge between global environmental ideals and local reality in the UK and overseas.

Blue Ventures Conservation is the charitable arm of the organisation, to which all profits from Blue Ventures expeditions are donated. This UK-registered charity is entirely dedicated to facilitating marine conservation, education and research initiatives, focussing in particular on tropical coastal and marine environments.

Coral Cay Conservation is a not-for-profit organisation at the cutting edge of ecotourism. They send teams of volunteers to survey some of the world's most endangered coral reefs and tropical forests. Their mission is to protect these crucial environments by working closely with the local communities who depend on them for food and livelihood.

The Society for Environmental Exploration was established in 1989 as a non-profit conservation non-governmental organisation dedicated to safeguarding biodiversity and ecosystem integrity. Since its inception, SEE has hosted a myriad of global conservation projects under the banner name of Frontier.

Groundwork supports communities in need, working with partners to help improve the quality of people’s lives, their prospects and potential and the places where they live, work and play.

The National Trust works to preserve and protect the coastline, countryside and buildings of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. In total the NT looks after 617,500 acres (250,000 hectares) of countryside, moorland, beaches and coastline.

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds is driven by a passionate belief that we all have a responsibility to protect birds and the environment. Bird populations reflect the health of the planet on which our future depends. The need for an effective bird conservation organisation has never been greater.

Sustrans is the UK's leading sustainable transport charity. Their vision is a world in which people can choose to travel in ways that benefit their health and the environment. Every day they are working on practical, innovative ways of dealing with the transport challenges that affect us all.

Volunteering England is an independent voluntary agency committed to supporting, enabling and celebrating volunteering in all its diversity. Our work links research, policy innovation, good practice and grant making in the involvement of volunteers.

The Wildlife Trusts are comprised of 47 local Wildlife Trusts across the whole of the UK. They are working for an environment rich in wildlife for everyone and with 670,000 members, they are the largest UK voluntary organisation dedicated to conserving the full range of the UK's habitats and species.
