Habitats

The English Hedgerow Trust was established to attempt to make some contribution towards the massive destruction of hedgerows in the British countryside.

The Forestry Commission has the mission to protect and expand Britain's forests and woodlands and increase their value to society and the environment.

Habitats is an exciting website which will allow you to discover and explore the wonderful world of natural habitats. This website provides a wide range of information with an emphasis on British habitats, particularly those in East Devon.

The Shared Earth Trust was set up in 1987 in direct response to the catastrophic decline in wildlife habitat and biodiversity in the farmed countryside. Like many others, Denmark Farm had been progressively intensified and its rye grass fields and bare hedges were typical of vast areas of grazing land.

Wetland Action has two main aims: ecologically sustainable management of wetland resources and Socially sensitive wetland management for sustainable livelihood benefits.

The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust aims to save wetlands and their wildlife and raise awareness of the issues that affect their survival. To enhance people’s lives through learning about and being close to nature and inspiring them to help WWT’s conservation work worldwide.

Woodland Improvement Ltd offers a comprehensive forestry service to those who wish to create new plantations or manage existing woodlands. They offer professional advice on all aspects from woodland planning and establishment through to the felling and marketing of timber.

The Woodland Trust is the UK's leading conservation charity dedicated to the protection of our native woodland heritage. The WT campaigns to protect ancient woods, improve woodland biodiversity, increase native woodland cover and increase understanding and enjoyment of woods.
