Animal Conservation Organisations

The Amateur Entomologists' Society is the UK's leading organisation for people interested in insects. Members include novices and professional scientists alike - from the very young to those with a lifelong interest in insects.

The Barn Owl Trust is a registered charity dedicated to conserving the Barn Owl and its environment and is the main source of Barn Owl information in the UK.

There are 17 species of bat in the UK, all of which are protected by law because their numbers have decreased so dramatically. The Bat Conservation Trust is working towards a world where bats and people live in harmony.

Buglife is the only organisation in Europe devoted to the conservation of all invertebrates, and is actively engaged in saving Britain's rarest little animals, everything from bees to beetles, and spiders to snails.

Butterfly Conservation's purpose is to secure a lasting future for all native butterflies, moths and their habitats within the UK. Their ultimate goal is to help restore a balanced countryside with butterflies and other wildlife restored to the profusion that they, and we, once enjoyed.

Dolphins all around our coast are being killed at an alarming rate, and it is Dolphin Care UK's mission to help stop the needless killing of these beautiful creatures.

The aim of the British Dragonfly Society is to promote and encourage the study and conservation of dragonflies and their natural habitats, especially in the United Kingdom.

The Royal Entomological Society of London (formerly, the Entomological Society of London) is devoted to insect study. It has a major national and international role in disseminating information about insects and improving communication between entomologists.

The Herpetological Conservation Trust (The HCT) is a UK based charity and charitable company established to further the conservation of amphibians and reptiles (collectively known as herpetofauna).

The Mammal Society works to protect British mammals, halt the decline of threatened species, and advise on all issues affecting British Mammals. They study mammals, identify the problems they face and promote conservation and other policies based on sound science.

The Badger Trust promotes the conservation and welfare of badgers and the protection of their setts and habitats. They are the leading voice for badgers and represent and support around 80 local voluntary badger groups.

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds is driven by a passionate belief that we all have a responsibility to protect birds and the environment. Bird populations reflect the health of the planet on which our future depends. The need for an effective bird conservation organisation has never been greater.

The Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society (WDCS) is the world's most active charity dedicated to the conservation and welfare of all whales, dolphins and porpoises (also known as cetaceans).

Froglife is a national wildlife charity concerned with the protection of Britain’s amphibians and reptiles, many of which are increasingly under threat. Froglife works to support and promote conservation and provides information, education and training to a wide range of people, from those working in the field to people wanting to know more about the wildlife in their area.
